Good News for Syrians: “TPS” Visas and Work Cards Now Available!

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Yesterday, 29 March 2012, the Dept. of Homeland Security announced that Syrians in the US can apply for the special Temporary Protected Status (“TPS”) visas and work cards.  Syrians  MUST register by 30 Sept. 2012!  TPS is good for 18 months and is generally renewable until the crisis situation in Syria is over.  Go to www.uscis.gov/tps for details or contact my office at cwolff@pswpa.com or www.naplesfloridalawgroup.com.

Registration gives Syrians legal status in the US, the right to work and get a Social Security Card, the right to travel internationally without loosing the TPS status, and, in most cases, a local drivers license.

Good luck!

How Ugly is Alabama’s Anit-Immigration Law? Judge for Yourself.

Monday, March 5th, 2012

The Alabama anti-immigration law, known as HB-56, has ushedered in a “state-of-war” against foreign looking (eg. non-white) residents of Alabama.  Hear from these people, in their own words, thru the Southern Poverty Law Center, an internationally recognized and respected non-profit, civil rights organization in Birmingham, Alabama.   The link below tells the stories of a state law  run amok and the trampeling of civil rights as validated by a state’s legislature:

After reading a story or two from this report, ask yourself:  “Is this what made the US the greatest country in the world?”  I don’t think so.
