In a very frank article in The Washington Post, one of the most influential legislative policy makers (this means the guy who writes the anti-immigration laws for Arizona, Alabama, etc.) bluntly tells of his concern about the United States becoming a nation overrun by people who are not white. Avoiding the nasty word “racism”, the article is fascinating reading for those who want to get inside of the heads of these anti-immigration proponents who have devised a strategy of self-deportation for brown people. The new racism? You bet! Check out the link below:

U.S. citizens married to illegals (who entered the US illegally) can now file their Extreme Hardship Waiver while their illegal spouse stays with the family in the US. Foreigners who enter the U.S. illegally CANNOT legalize without returning to their home country where they risk not being allowed to come back to the U.S. for 10 years unless a Waiver is approved! The old rule required the foreign spouse to retun to his/her home country and wait for the Waiver there. The old rule sometimes kept family apart for 12 months or more!

Since the U.S.Congress has failed to amend attrocious immigration laws, President Obama is finally showing some creativity and backbone by changing the “rules” of how certain procedures are handled. Remember, the law HAS NOT CHANGED! Only how it is applied.

In the next several months, families made up of US citizens, green card holders and illegals will be able to remain together in the US while “waivers” are adjudicated by the USCIS here in the US. The current/old rule requires the illegal to leave the US and remain away from his family for months and months while the USCIS adjudicates his/her “waiver” and the illegal risks being trapped outside the US (away from his/her family) for up to 10 years. Remember, this “rule” change only changes the location of where the waiver is filed and approved/denied, and nothing else!

This is complicated stuff. This is NOT an amnesty so when you hear some blow-hard call it that, just smack him with a newspaper just like you would a bad pet. (Just kidding PETA.)

Finally, this new rule has NOT passed; it has only been proposed. Stay tuned to this Blog or feel free to contact my office thru our website.

The current “enforcement only” immigration policy is now taking children away from their parents, even if the parent has committed NO crime. Parents are being deported and their children are being left behind, disguarded, like unclaimed luggage at an airport. Is this what we are? Is this the America we love? How far will Washington go before “compassion” is totally eraticated from the English language.

For those of you listening to the anti-immigration noise coming from Gov. Rick Perry and the pure fiction from the ultra conservatives who HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE TEXAS/MEXICAN BORDER, please read the comments of Judge Escobar of El Paso, Texas. The link is below.

All I ask of those who read this blog is check out the facts and do not be intimidated by the “noise” in this immigration debate. When something is broken, fix it. The borders have been seriously beefed up since Sept. 11, 2001 according to the reports from Dept. of Homeland Security and the recommendations of September 11 Commission. Now let’s fix the immigration laws.
